Britney concert!

AJ bought Brit and I tickets to Britney Spears for Mothers Day, and I've been so busy with the Utah trip and work that I didn't really let myself get too excited for it until yesterday. And even then, it was hard because I almost thought I was going to have to stay home with a sick Baby. But Marilyn promised me that she could take care of her, and I'm SO glad, because it was SO MUCH FUN!!!

On our way to the Rose Garden Arena we were stuck in traffic and I couldn't believe how beautiful Portland is... it still blows me away. I mean, would you ever see THIS on the side of a Utah freeway? It's EVERYWHERE in Portland!

We were going to find me a boyfriend in the traffic but then we got too into ourselves and forgot....

This is another view, but the picture doesn't do it justice. This is part of the Portland skyline, it's SO beautiful!

As soon as we got inside the Arena, Britt needed to find a bathroom so she could touch up her make-up. Such a girly girl :)

Our seats were awesome! AJ did good :) It was fun just hanging out with Brittanee and talking before the concert started. I've missed spending time with her so much and as much as I swear I haven't turned into one of those crazy Mom's who can't stop thinking about her kids, I totally have. I want girls nights, but I feel bad leaving her since I feel like I already neglect her so much during the week while I work, but last night it was just Britt and I, like old times and I LOVED every second of it!

The first performer was Nervo and they were SO fun! I want to buy their CD. They're these two sisters from Australia who DJ and sing a little. It's definitely more dance music than sing-a-long music, but it would be a fun CD to put you in a good mood. After that Jessie and the Toy Boys performed. They were fun to dance to as well, but you can sing to their music too. Jessie was a GREAT performer! Then it was time for Nicki Minaj!!! When I found out she was touring with Britney, I wasn't all that excited, but I ended up really liking her. I also didn't realize how long she's been around and how many songs she's in. Tons!!

Then it was time for BRITNEY!!!

It was SO MUCH BETTER than I imagined it would be! I was a little worried that she would be lazy and old, but she wasn't at all! I'm SO proud of her!! It wasn't as risque as I imagined it would be either. It was so fun dancing to all of her music and she had the best props and is still an amazing dancer. Ah, I love her.

I had the BEST time ever! And I love Britt for taking me. BEST. SISTER. EVER! (Well, one of them :))

Swimming!!

Because I don't think sometimes, and really wanted just one day in the sun, I decided to take Olivia swimming at Auntie Shaylee and Kayla's house after we were finished with our errands Saturday. Olivia was already over the day since she had her shots and we were getting things ready for Utah, so I really should have just taken her home, but I REALLY wanted to try! She wasn't a very big fan of her oversized hat and sunglasses, and she had no problem letting me know!

We tried putting her in the water and she SCREAMED as soon as her little toes touched the cold water, so Auntie got out and held her in the shade where she was perfectly content and told Auntie all about her terrible day.

I tried to give it another go in the sun and she was happy for about 15 minutes....

And then it all came tumbling down and I knew we had to go home.

Nice try, Mama :) We'll have to try it again when she hasn't had her shots, and I haven't made her run around all day. Again, sometimes I don't think :)

Olivia's first shots (insert frowny face)

Saturday morning we were finally able to get Olivia's first shots!
Olivia had no idea what was coming... I look at the picture below and it almost makes me feel guilty that I totally knew this might be the worst day of her Baby life, and she was completetly oblivious. The joys of being a Mommy :) If only she knew that she'll be able to have her ears pierced now!
(okay, she probably won't be too excited about that either)

She was being SO cute at the doctors office! There was a mirror that went along the side of the bed and when I stood her up and she saw her reflection, she started smiling and grabbing for herself. It was the cutest thing! And she was entertained with that for at least 10 minutes.

The second the doctor pricked her she just started SCREAMING! And she looked straight at me and I started crying. It was so hard not being able to pick her up and I just felt so bad! I also hoped that she didn't think I was the one who pricked her! Haha. But then after I held her for a minute she calmed down. I think it was the saddest thing I've ever experienced. They might as well have poked ME with the needle!

This is Livvy after we got home and she started recovering from the trauma. Such a brave girl!!

Like Mom, like daughter

I try to get Olivia to talk to me ALL THE TIME on camera, but as soon as my iPhone is in her face she's like 'oooooohhh iPhone' and stops talking. I FINALLY caught her when she was talking to Grandpa on Fathers Day. Enjoy!

Olivia's Best Friend

"Cousins are people that are ready made friends...

You have laughs with them and remember good times from a young age...

You have fights with them but you always know you love each other

They are a better thing than brothers and sisters and friends cause there all pieced together as one." - Courtney Cox

2 Months

Olivia,
People warned me that you would grow fast, but I really wasn't expecting you to grow THIS fast! It seems like every day when I pick you up from Auntie Shaylee's you've grown another inch. I love it though! You're starting to seem more like a baby than a newborn and you have the best baby personality.
This started out as a rough month. I swear you changed your mind about everything you like overnight and Mama struggled with trying to figure out what all your new different cries meant until one night, at Grandma and Grandpa's auntie Brittanee decided to try giving you one of Graciee's binkies and life has been amazing since! Who would have thought... a binky!

And you smile!! REAL smiles, not gas smiles. You are such a happy baby and you love to talk, just like your Mama. And you totally get into it too... making facial expressions and acting really serious-like.

You learned to stand a lot better this month too! I can almost hold you by your hands and you'll hold yourself up just fine. You can balance your head really well too, but that's no surprise... you were doing that the minute you came out :)

Another exciting milestone was your sun exposure. I remember when I first took you out in the sun and you had a fit! And every time after that. But last week, we went to the river front to walk and lay out and you loved every second of it. There was so much going on and you were so curious, then you fell asleep and stayed that way for hours.

Bath time became easier this month too! You LOVE baths. You're not splashing or playing yet, but you love the warm water and I'm pretty sure if I didn't make you get out, you would stay forever. In fact, I always know you're going to cry when I get ready to take you out.

In just a month you've become this little person, and as much as I wanted you to stay a newborn, I'm loving this new, playful side of you. I love you a little more every day... soon, my heart might explode. Being your Mom is the most amazing thing in the world.

I love you so much! - Mommy

Olivia's first parade!

This post is a little late, but I have to share it anyway :)
A couple weeks ago Keizer had their Iris Festival going on and Britt and I decided to take the girls to the parade. Grandma Marilyn wanted to come too and the more the merrier! Before the parade, we walked over to the gas station where the policemen were getting ready to let Graciee look at the horses. She wasn't scared at all!

Here are a few pics of Britt and I waiting for the parade to start...

Graciee fell alseep with her sunglasses on before the parade started. SO cute!!

But then she woke up and enjoyed the rest of the parade while Olivia did what she does best.... sleep!

It was really fun! But I think Britt and I enjoyed it more than the girls. Lol. I love that the kids are giving us an excuse to do all the things we wanted to do, but were too old for. Now we can say 'We're taking the girls'.

Olivia's first softball game

My Dad invited Olivia and I to watch one of his softball games before I had to go back to work and since I love softball and Olivia is supposed to be the short stop on my Dad's little league team someday, I thought it sounded like a good idea.

Grandpa was up to bat, and Olivia was....

Sleeping.

Home run, and Olivia was....

Sleeping.

Grandpa was met by a bunch of happy teammates and Olivia was....

You guessed it! Sleeping.

Haha. I guess we'll have to try again next year :)
