Haha Olivia!

Olivia thought she could get herself out of this.
Silly girl :)

My 5 month old

My World

5 Months!

Olivia,
5 Months, WOW!! You have grown up so much this past month, I can't even believe it. And you CONSTANTLY have me laughing.

You are SO into everything!! You are always trying to get someones attention by screaming, blowing bubbles, or grunting. You love to be the center of attention and you love people watching. Everytime we go somewhere and I catch someone smiling at you I look down, and you're smiling right back. You want to touch everything, eat everything, and see everything.

You found your toes this month and diaper changes have become so much fun. Add to that you're need to constantly wiggle and turn over. You still love to be on your feet, but now you like to wiggle on your feet and it's exhausting for me to watch sometimes. You're constantly switching feet, stepping backwards, and sideways, and doing elvis dances... I wish I had half your energy. Oh! You also love to crawl up people when they hold you... fun stuff.

You have become SO determined this month and you want to do everything yourself, and when you're unable to you throw the biggest fits! You're finally able to hold your bottle by yourself and you're pretty good at getting it in your mouth but then you like to move it all over and make huge messes! Also, remember how I mentioned that you like to see EVERYTHING that's going on? That includes while you're eating.

And you're mobile. I've managed to let you fall off the furniture twice and you didn't enjoy it very much. I've learned my lesson. In the picture above, you started out in the middle of the blanket and it didn't take you long to get yourself to the chair. You're trying so hard to crawl; you can get your legs up and your butt in the air, but you can't quite figure out how to make your arms cooperate.

And then this happens. You get so frustrated that you cry and give me faces like this one and it breaks my heart. I wish that I could get you wherever you're trying to go, but where's the learning and success in that? The excitement and happiness on your face when you accomplish something new is worth a hundred of these faces. Please slow down, don't be in a hurry to grow up. Mama still needs her Baby.

I love you a hundred times,
Mom

Ziplining!

Camp Dakota was having a deal for Labor Day where you could do unlimited Ziplining for $15 bucks a person. It's a fun deal because normally, it's like $30 and you only get to go 2 rounds, which would be a rediculous waste of money. $15 to see what it's all about was perfect. I went with Mike, his roommate Eric, his Mom Kim, and a few of her friends.

And here are the videos:

It was pretty fun! It was a GORGEOUS day and it was nice to just be doing something new and different, but now that I'm a pro, I'm on the search for bigger, better ziplines!!

Olivia goes to the Zoo!

I've been wanting to go to the Oregon Zoo ALL Summer, but we just haven't had a chance. Since it was a Holiday weekend and we had an extra day, I decided we HAD to go before it gets cold. The Oregon Zoo is SO much nicer than the Utah Zoo. I felt like I was in Disneyland. The landscaping is awesome! In the Africa section, you really feel like you're in Africa; I loved it!

The first couple animals we saw were either sleeping or hiding. I know that it's nice for the animals to have a lot of living space, but they had too much! There were way too many places for them to hide and I wished we were in Utah where they're pretty much in little cages and they have no choice but to let you watch them :)

The first animals we saw that were actually doing something were the Bats and Olivia LOVED them!! They were crazy, and she loved watching them fly and dart across the rocks.

The Sun Bear was hiding, but we were able to see the Polar Bears. I think Olivia just thought they were white rocks though because they were sleeping.

When we were watching the Zebra's Olivia dropped her favorite binky into a pond so we had to use the back up - a gumdrop binky. I melted when I saw Olivia sucking her thumb through the hole in the bottom, she is TOO cute sometimes!!

And then she was out. But she woke up just in time to see the Monkeys!

This Monkey was SO funny! She just sat at the window like that staring at the kids. Then she picked up a piece of cardboard, laid it down on the side of her, and then sat on it.

And then she had a nice little conversation with Olivia.

Livvy was getting pretty cranky by the time I tried to take this picture with her, but we still got a good one :) I think she mostly just wondered why I was making her act like a Monkey.

It was a REALLY fun trip! I was worried that Olivia would be too little, but she loved just being outside and around people, and she also had fun with the animals she DID notice. Next year is going to be a blast!

Livvy's new scream

On our way home last night, Olivia started doing THIS new scream in the car.
And then she did it all. night. long. So let me introduce you to my little girl, the comedian.
